Joey, Be Nice

Shameless is teaming up with Famous Players to celebrate Scratchmaster Joe's new CD, "Joey, Be Nice" released on Famous Records. This party will take place this Thursday April 16th at a very swank private venue on Capitol Hill (aka Sole Repair!). The event will feature Shameless sound, plus the musical styling of FCS, Specs, Recess, NKO and a very special surprise guest. And if that's not enough, Joe himself will be recreating the disc live!

To listen to the new disc go to http://famouswebsite.net/smj.htm or come pick one up at the party.

Plus there will be some suprise guests making a musical appearance at some point during the night. Check out the picture below for a clue as to who it might be!

Hookerz & Blow

We know what you're thinking. SF has plenty of both, right? Not this time. Hookerz & Blow refers to the exciting live/dj hybrd duo of Mozaic & EPROM. Check them out at a party in SF last Christmas. We had them up here once before for the Libra Luvshack party and are thrilled to be hosting them again.

Oh and when it comes to Broken Disco this Friday you'll need to get there early. Not just because it's $10 before 10pm, but because the locals on this bill represent the underground strong. Plus you're not going to want to miss Deepchild. He's going to be Broken Disco's secret weapon. Live set with analog gear. Roland love. Check out his recent trip to Vancouver. We're lucky to have him in town performing at Broken Disco.

D.I.M. - March 14th @ Chop Suey

Our homies over at Innerflight and Decibel invited Shameless to take over the back lounge at Chop Suey this Saturday. They are bringing in D.I.M. (Boys Noize) to headline. The main room will also be supported by Detroit influenced Jerry Abstract and Anglo Satellite. In the back lounge, resident Shameless DJs along with Pressha (Emerald City, Produkt) are holding it down. Make sure you get there early, because both rooms will be popping all night!

Broken Disco Fever!

Get Physical has been on a tear the past few years. M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade & DJ T founded the label in 2002 and have pretty much defined the flavor of european tech house since then. Jona stands out with not just multiple releases on the highly respected label, but a reputation for slaying dancefloors across the world.

Oh yeah, plus it Broken Disco. You know the drill. Break that disco YO!!

What happened to the last month?

Since our last post was almost a month ago it might take a moment to recap...
  • Shameless teamed up with Decibel to throw back to back afterparties. The first one at the Clubhouse was only for the hardcore since it took place nye eve (aka the 30th). Kilowatts was our special surprise guest and locals Adlib (P.O.E.), Andrew Luck & Nordic Soul all tore it up. As you can see below our photograper Dave Matthews was having fun with double exposure. Click on the picture to see more!

  • The second afterparty for nye almost never happened. At 4:15pm on nye, Shameless HQ got the call from the venue renter who sadly reported that his space wasn't not an option anoymore. Since we were all still waking up from the night before, we sat around asking ourselves what we should do. Here's the dilemma... both John Tejada and Alex Smoke are in town and want to play our afterparty. So we decided to shoot a text message out into the dark and our good friend offered to open up his loft space for our party. About six hours later after lugging speakers across the city, we're cracking open a beer and toasting the new year with our friends while Tejada lays down an incredibly deep and beautiful set until 3:30am when Smoke takes over. An amazing night rose from the ashes of a party that got canceled last minute. With humilty and thankfulness for the strength of the local electronic music community, we here at Shameless considered our good fortunes as 2009 got underway.
  • On January 16th, Broken Disco returned with a vengence... Chop Suey installed a new sound system that helped stepped things up in the main room and we brought in a KV2 system for the Make Out Lounge. Yes we are sound snobs. Get over it! It seemed Frivolous and the Martin Brothers appreciated it too. Everyone that played stepped up their game. Thanks to everyone that came out!! WE *HEART* BROKEN DISCO! Check out the pictures by clicking below...
  • Speaking of pictures, Sparks Fountain (aka Recess & Kadeejah Streets getting ridiculous behind the decks) made another appearance recently at Produkt's monthly event entitled Analog. Armed with about 15 mexican wrestling masks, a fog machine and a slew filthy bass jams they proceeded to pack the dancefloor while their tongues were painted orange from the frothy beverage (RIP Sparks). More pictures below...

  • Lastly... make sure you mark Feb 2oth on your calanders. Broken Disco is coming again!!
